Studio — the WrapStudio hub: design wraps, prep artwork, and turn photos into marketing
Who it's for
WrapStudio is your in-house creative team. A designer or manager uses it two ways: to design and prep production artwork (start from a vehicle template, rebuild a customer's proof, trace a logo to vector), and to generate polished content from a quick phone snap — a showcase image, a before/after reveal, a short social video, or a captioned post — without opening Photoshop. Owners use it to keep a steady stream of marketing flowing from everyday jobs. It's a "make the work look great" tool, not a place to manage jobs or customers.
Where it fits
WrapStudio has its own Studio section in the sidebar, labelled WrapStudio (/studio). It comes into play twice in a job: at the design stage, when you are building or prepping artwork, and at the production-to-complete end, when you've finished a wrap, snap a photo, and turn it into something you'd post or hand a customer. You can open it on its own or jump in pre-loaded with a job's photos. See workflow-map.md for the full lifecycle and personas.md for who works where.
Overview
WrapStudio is a hub with up to five tabs. You only see the ones your role's permissions cover, and the hub opens on the first tab you can see.
- Design — the creative front door: a Start screen of workflows, plus My Work, Before/After, Video, Social and Backdrops. Needs the Wrap Studio permission.
- Showcase — upload a real photo of an installed wrap, upscale it to 4K, and swap in a cleaner background. Needs Wrap Studio.
- Convert — turn a file into another format: images, PDFs, documents, video, audio. Needs Wrap Studio.
- Promote — Campaigns, Newsletter and Autopilots, moved here so what you design sits one tab from where you post it. Needs the Marketing permission; see Marketing.
- Colors — your shop palette, customer brand colors and the Wraptones library. Needs the Colors permission; see Colors.
Three workflows have their own focused pages rather than living in a tab: Magic Wrap (/studio/magic-wrap), Photo → editable artwork (/studio/make-editable) and Vectorize (/studio/vectorize). All three are reachable from the Start screen.
The layered vector canvas at /studio/design/<document> is a full design application in its own right — drawing tools, typography, panelization, print-ready PDFs and cut files. It has its own page: WrapStudio Design.
Every AI generation runs in the background and lands in My Work → Generated when it's done, so you can fire one off and keep working. A small floating chip follows you around the app while one runs.
Screens & navigation
WrapStudio (/studio)
Open WrapStudio in the sidebar. On a phone it's in the bottom bar or the More sheet, depending on which four screens your role uses most. From a job, the Make it look unreal button (it appears once the job has files) opens WrapStudio pre-loaded with that job's photos.
- Tabs across the top — Design, Showcase, Convert, Promote, Colors, each written into the address as
?tab=. The hub opens on Design unless your role can't see it, in which case it opens on the first tab you can. - Modes inside Design — Start, My Work, Before/After, Video, Social, Backdrops, written as
?mode=, so you can bookmark or share one. - Old links keep working —
?mode=projectsand?mode=galleryland on the right My Work view,?mode=showcaseon the Showcase tab,?mode=vectorizeon/studio/vectorize,?mode=intakeand?mode=rebuildon/studio/make-editable, and?mode=magic-wrapon/studio/magic-wrap.
Design → Start The Start screen groups workflows by what you already have and what you want.
- Start a design — Design on your template, whose Choose a template button opens a dialog of the same name: pick PVO or Bad Wraps and add your own template file (AI, PDF, SVG or layered TIFF), or use Start from artwork (PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC — the artboard matches the image), Start from vehicle photo (a straight-on side shot, no template subscription needed), one of your Reusable designs, an artboard preset (van side, box truck side, sedan side, pickup side, van rear doors, hood, rear window perf, Instagram post or story, flyer, business card, banner), or a Custom size in pixels or inches with a print scale. Beside it, Magic Wrap turns a customer logo into three concept directions.
- Prep artwork — Vectorize a logo and Photo → editable artwork.
- Quick fixes — Remove background (open an image in the canvas, then cut it out to a clean transparent PNG for 1 credit) and Upscale a render (a design-locked Topaz 2× copy).
- Show off your work — Open Showcase.
- My Work — a row showing how many editable designs you have, with Open My Work.
- A Promote strip links to Campaigns, Newsletter and Autopilots.
Design → My Work One library with two views:
- Editable — your WrapStudio documents. New design opens the New wrap design dialog with the same choices as the Start screen's template tile. Older raster projects appear alongside them with a Legacy badge; opening one converts it into an editable document.
- Generated — finished renders and videos. Each one offers Open in WrapStudio, Download, Delete, and — when the generation is attached to a job — Send to {job} as proof, which creates a new proof version on that job.
Showcase (/studio?tab=showcase)
Upload a photo of a finished wrap (or pick one off the job), then pick a Backdrop — the picker is filtered by All, Studio, Outdoor and My Backdrops, and it is optional: none means a plain studio scene. Set the chips beside it — Lighting, Finish, Atmosphere, Aspect ratio, Resolution (1K, 2K, 4K), plus Time of day on an outdoor backdrop — and add Extra details for anything the chips don't cover. Pick 1, 2 or 4 variations and press Generate · N credits.
Each result carries its own actions: Annotate & Generate (drop markers and say what to change), Repair (paint a region, then Fix logo, Fix wheel, Clean reflection or your own words, then Repair region), Publish (the Publish kit), Open in WrapStudio, and a download button. Below the results sit Topaz 2×, Regenerate, Start Over, Styles, and — on a single result generated without a backdrop — Save Scene, which adds that empty background to your Backdrops.
Square 1:1 output maxes at 2K, and Match input only outputs 1K — the panel tells you when your combination can't reach the resolution you picked.
Convert (/studio?tab=convert)
Convert a file — drop a file, choose a category (Image, Document, Video, Audio) and a target format, then Convert to {format} · 1 conversion. The chip in the header reads N of M left this month, Unlimited this month, or Activate to convert when your plan has no conversions. Recent conversions lists what you've run. If file conversion hasn't been switched on for your shop, the tab says so instead of accepting a file.
Magic Wrap (/studio/magic-wrap)
Reach it from the Start screen, the command menu, or Design a wrap on the page itself. The wizard runs The business → The vehicle → The style, and the footer states the price: 3 concepts · 3 credits.
- Every run creates three directions and saves them to My Work → Generated.
- Each concept offers Use this concept (opens it as a design), Make editable (continues into Photo → editable artwork), Download, and Re-roll · 1 credit for that one slot.
- Launch it from a job and the job stays attached to the resulting design.
- This is the shop-facing concept generator. The customer-facing white-label Magic Wrap lead tool is a separate thing, configured under Web Presence — see Marketing.
Photo → editable artwork (/studio/make-editable)
Reach it from the Start screen, the command menu, or Make editable on a Magic Wrap concept. It is the single home for flat-art rebuilding, vectorization and vehicle-template placement, and it runs in five steps: Source → Panel → Vectorize → Template → Create.
- Choose a Magic Wrap concept or upload a customer proof, JPEG or installed-wrap photo.
- Optionally rebuild it as flat panel artwork, then trace it into editable color paths.
- Place the result as Standalone, on an Upload template (your PVO / Bad Wrap .ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg or .tif line art), on a Reusable design, or on a Physical board in real inches, which enables print panels.
- Review, then create the layered WrapStudio document.
Vectorize (/studio/vectorize)
Reach it from the Start screen (Vectorize a logo) or the command menu. Two engines:
- Vectorize — converts your original artwork into a clean SVG, for 1 vectorization.
- Deep Restore — rebuilds blurry or low-resolution artwork first, then vectorizes it, for 1 vectorization + 1 credit.
When it finishes, Open in WrapStudio creates a real editable vector document; Download SVG is the file-only alternative. Very detailed SVGs can be too heavy to open as a document — the page says so and leaves the download.
The design canvas (/studio/design/<document>)
Opened by New design, by any document thumbnail in My Work → Editable, or by Open in WrapStudio on a render. It is the full vector editor — see WrapStudio Design. It needs a desktop-width screen: on a phone or a narrow tablet it shows The editor needs a bigger screen with a link back to Studio home.
The floating progress chip
When you start a generation and navigate away, a chip headed Wrap Studio appears with an elapsed timer. You can minimise or dismiss it, it clears itself about fifteen seconds after the result lands (or fails), and it hides while you're on the WrapStudio hub page (/studio).
Capabilities
Start a design
- Import a PVO or Bad Wraps template (AI, PDF, SVG, layered TIFF) at the right drawing scale, with the vehicle line art locked.
- Or start from a straight-on vehicle photo, an uploaded piece of artwork, a saved reusable design, an artboard preset, or a custom size.
- Design it on the layered vector canvas — see WrapStudio Design.
Generate wrap concepts
- Magic Wrap turns a customer's brand, vehicle and preferred style into three fleet-ready directions in about a minute.
- Re-roll any single concept you don't like without redoing the run.
- Take a concept straight into production prep with Make editable.
Prep incoming artwork
- Vectorize converts a raster logo into a clean, Illustrator-compatible SVG you can open as an editable document or download.
- Deep Restore reads a blurry, tiny or JPEG-crunched logo once — transcribing its text runs and matching the lettering to a menu of display typefaces — redraws it as flat artwork, and sends that through the production trace.
- Photo → editable artwork turns a concept, customer proof or installed-wrap photo into a layered, template-ready document.
Make showcase images
- Upload a photo (or pull one straight off a job) and generate a hero image on a cleaner backdrop, up to 4K.
- Steer it with the chips, add free-text detail, and generate one, two or four variations at a time.
- Fix what the model got wrong: Repair a painted region, or mark points with Annotate & Generate.
- Styles applies a curated look to your vehicle as a concept render, rather than describing one from scratch.
- Topaz 2× makes a design-locked super-resolution copy of a render you already like.
Tell the transformation story
- Before/After generates a convincing "before" from your finished shot, so you have both halves of the reveal.
- Video turns a still into a short clip for reels and stories — source Showcase or Before/After, length 3s or 5s, camera static.
Post to social, faster
- Social builds a captioned graphic sized for Instagram, Instagram Story, Facebook, TikTok or LinkedIn, with a font style, text position (Top, Center, Bottom, Bottom Bar) and text color you can pull from your shop palette. It can suggest headline copy for you.
- The Publish kit re-exports any Showcase result into several sizes at once — Square (1:1), Portrait (4:5), Story (9:16), Wide (16:9) — with a Fit or Fill choice, an optional logo and @handle, and an AI caption you can regenerate, edit and Copy caption before Download all.
Manage backdrops
- Browse built-in scenes plus your own, in studio, outdoor and abstract categories.
- Generate new empty scenes from a text prompt, or upload one.
- Save Scene on a showcase result keeps that empty background in your library for reuse.
Convert files
- Turn a file into another image, document, video or audio format without leaving the app, one conversion per run.
Keep everything
- My Work holds editable documents and generated assets together: open, reuse, send to a proof, download or delete.
Step-by-step tasks

- Run it, then choose Open in WrapStudio to keep editing, or Download SVG for Illustrator.
- Choose Vectorize a logo on the Start screen, or open
-
Make a showcase image of a finished wrap
- Open the Showcase tab (or open WrapStudio from the job with Make it look unreal to pre-load its photos).
- Upload your vehicle photo or pick a job image.
- Pick a Backdrop (or leave it for a plain studio scene) and set the chips — Lighting, Finish, Atmosphere, Aspect ratio, Resolution — adding Extra details if you need to.
- Choose 1, 2 or 4 variations and click Generate · N credits.
- Keep working. The floating chip tells you when it's ready, and the result lands in My Work → Generated.
-
Create a before/after
- Open Design → Before/After.
- Upload or pick the finished-wrap photo.
- Click Generate Before Image — WrapStudio produces the "before" so you have both halves of the reveal.
-
Turn a result into a full set of social sizes
- On the Showcase tab, hover a result and click Publish.
- In the Publish kit, choose your Formats, Fit or Fill, and whether to add your logo and handle.

- Generate, and keep the ones you like. They appear as backdrop options on the Showcase tab.
-
Convert a file
- Open the Convert tab.
- Drop the file in, pick the category and the target format.
- Click Convert to {format} · 1 conversion and download the result from Recent conversions.
Settings & permissions
Who can open what
- Design, Showcase and Convert need the Wrap Studio permission. Colors needs Colors, and Promote needs Marketing.
- The built-in Manager role holds all of them. Designer holds Wrap Studio and Colors but not Marketing. Production and Installer hold none of the three, so opening
/studiosends them to the Jobs board. - Change that on Shop → Team → Roles & Permissions — see Team.
- You only see the tabs your permissions cover, and the hub opens on the first one.
What your plan changes
WrapStudio is open on every plan and during the 7-day free trial; what a plan changes is how much metered work you get.
- A live card-backed 7-day trial draws on a one-time starter allowance: 15 AI credits, 3 vectorizations and 3 file conversions. It never refills, and it can't spend a purchased balance.
- Paid membership starts a monthly allowance: Wraptor Starter 60 AI credits, 10 vectorizations and 25 conversions a month; Wraptor Shop 500, 40 and 100; Wraptor Fleet 1,000, 100 and 300. All three counters reset together on one 30-day cycle.
- Prices per run: most images cost 1 credit, 4K costs 2, and a video costs 5 regardless of length. Magic Wrap is 3 credits for three concepts and 1 credit per re-roll. Before/After, Social, Remove background, Topaz 2× upscale, Repair and Annotate & Generate are 1 credit each. A direct Vectorize is 1 vectorization; Deep Restore is 1 vectorization + 1 credit. In Photo → editable artwork, a panel rebuild costs the displayed 1 or 2 credits and tracing costs 1 vectorization, while template placement and creating the document are free. Each conversion is 1 conversion. Every button shows its own price.
- A technical failure refunds what it charged. A fresh attempt spends the allowance again.
- Credit packs (60 for $15, 250 for $50, 800 for $120) and vectorization packs (10 for $5, 50 for $20) are bought on Settings → Accounting & Billing, and require an active paid plan — on a trial the buttons are disabled and say so. Purchased balances never expire. See Plans.
- When a run is refused for want of credits, the message points you at the way out: Activate membership if AI is locked, or Buy a vectorization pack when a paying shop has used the month's runs.
Your logo and Brand Kit
- Set your shop logo on Settings → Shop Settings.
- Settings → Brand Kit holds your logos and sponsor/partner badges as real transparent assets. The Publish kit's Branding switch uses the Brand Kit logo, and the design canvas can insert the shop logo, those badges, your shop colors and your uploaded brand fonts straight onto an artboard.
- Settings → WrapStudio sets the Template defaults — the vehicle-template provider (PVO or Bad Wraps) and the drawing scale new designs start from — and holds Recovered originals, where you can clear the raster copies of designs you've already converted to reclaim storage.
Tips & common pitfalls
- Start is the front door; My Work is the library. The Design tab opens on Start so you pick a workflow rather than landing cold in a list. My Work → Editable holds your documents; Generated holds renders and videos.
- Fire and forget. Generations run in the background. Start one, switch tabs or screens, and watch for the floating chip.
- Better input, better output. A sharp, well-lit photo of the whole vehicle gives the AI the most to work with. Blurry or cropped shots produce weaker results. Showcase checks the photo you upload and lists what it finds, but it never blocks Generate — the call is yours.
- Post the real photo next to the showcase. It reads as honest and still shows off the install.
- Repair beats regenerating. If one wheel or a garbled badge is the only problem, paint that region and Repair it for 1 credit instead of paying for a whole new render.
- Styles are a head start. A curated style applies a proven look to your vehicle — and it produces a concept render, not an exact mockup of the final wrap.
- Backdrops are reusable scenes. Generate a few empty scenes once, or Save Scene from a render, and they become one-tap background options for every future showcase image.
- Vectorize follows your art; Deep Restore redraws it once first. Direct vectorization converts what's there into paths. When the source is blurry or tiny, Deep Restore makes one AI reconstruction and sends that through the trace. Another creative attempt means paying the displayed price again.
- The design canvas needs a desktop. You can shoot a photo and generate from the shop floor on a phone, but editing a design needs a wider screen.
- The command menu is a shortcut. ⌘K jumps straight to My Work, Magic Wrap, Photo → editable artwork and Vectorize. It's there on every plan and during the trial; only installer-only roles and a shop with no plan go without it.
