Designs — the retired public design store and what runs in its place
Current status
Wraptor does not sell wrap designs to vehicle owners and does not run a public design storefront. The old Designs checkout is retired:
/designsand/designs/orderpermanently redirect to/shops, the public shop Directory.- New design-order payment intents and inspiration uploads are refused before any payment, database or storage write. Both endpoints answer "New public design orders are no longer available. Contact a wrap shop directly."
- The old feature page
/features/designsredirects to/features/wrap-studio. - The thank-you, status, webhook and admin-fulfillment paths stay only so orders that were already paid can be finished.
The fixed package prices and the public configurator described in older documentation are history, not a current offer.
What replaces it
Three things carry design work now, and all three keep the customer yours.
WrapStudio — design it in-house
You draw artwork and cut files in WrapStudio Design, attach the work to a job, send a proof, build the quote, and move the approved design into production. Nothing leaves your shop.
Studio → Magic Wrap turns a customer's logo, vehicle and preferred style into three wrap directions for you to work from. That run costs 3 AI credits from your balance, the same as a visitor run. See Studio.
Magic Wrap — your branded designer, funded by you
Magic Wrap is one embed with two visitor modes, set up at Web Presence → Magic Wrap. Under What visitors can do:
- Instant estimate — visitors enter their vehicle, pick a coverage and get your price range in seconds. It uses no AI credits and no plan restricts it.
- AI wrap designer — visitors build three AI wrap concepts on their own vehicle, pick one, and arrive with the design attached.
What the designer costs and who can run it:
- The designer needs an eligible plan: Wraptor Fleet today, plus grandfathered plans that already carried it, such as Wraptor Pro (original). On Wraptor Starter and Wraptor Shop the row shows an Eligible plan badge and a See plans link, and Instant estimate keeps working. A live trial of an eligible plan counts; a past-due subscription does not. See Plans.
- Each run spends 3 AI credits from your balance and returns up to three concepts. Concept slots that never start are refunded.
- Max visitor runs per day (1 to 25) caps the spend. The panel prints the hard ceiling in credits per day, blocks a repeat run from the same contact on the same day, and pauses the designer before it can pass your cap.
- A visitor verifies their email before any concept generates, so an anonymous click spends nothing.
- Finished requests land in your Lead Inbox with a Magic Wrap badge and go to your shop only — they are never broadcast. See Marketing.
- The visitor sees your headline, accent and coverage price ranges. The page also carries a Powered by Wraptor link on every plan.
Setup itself — Install on your website, Appearance, Coverage price ranges, Rotate key, and the Magic Wrap block for your own Wraptor site — lives in Website. The tab needs the Billing & Quotes permission.
If your plan lapses, your saved settings stay, but the AI wrap designer shows as off and cannot be saved back on until the entitlement returns.
WrapForce — private overflow help
When you need capacity, WrapForce is the private design and installer network: Design Support for production-ready design orders and Hire an Installer for overflow, fleet and out-of-town work. It comes with Wraptor Shop and up, plus the grandfathered Wraptor Pro (original) deal; card-backed trials are outside it. Purchase a design in the help dock lands there on every plan, and a shop without access sees the sell screen rather than a bounce. You stay the seller: you keep the quote, the customer and the communication.
Public buyer experience
Wraptor runs two public doors for buyers, and both hand the buyer to one shop.
From a listing. A buyer browses the Directory, compares shops and requests a quote from the one they pick. A claimed listing that lists wraps among its services, whose shop has the AI wrap designer switched on, also shows Design my wrap, which opens that shop's branded Magic Wrap.
From a project at /design. A buyer can set up the project first. They choose a path — Build an AI design brief, I already have artwork, or Work with a designer — then a coverage (Lettering, Partial wrap, Full wrap), whether they can visit a shop or want mobile service, and a US ZIP code. Wraptor shows up to five eligible local shops with their published price ranges, and the buyer picks one and continues in that shop's studio. A saved project lasts 30 days.
To appear in that list you need a claimed and approved listing with a usable location, a plan that carries the AI wrap designer, and Appear in Magic Wrap matches turned on for the listing under Web Presence → Magic Wrap → Wraptor marketplace. That opt-in is separate from the embed on your own site and starts off; it does not switch the AI wrap designer on, and a buyer who picks you still lands in your branded designer, so keep that mode on or they see it as unavailable. Service radius (1 to 250 miles) and We offer mobile installation decide who you match.
Wraptor does not sell the buyer a design, generate concepts at Wraptor's expense, or resell the lead. The run is paid for by the shop the buyer chose, and the lead goes only to that shop.
Historical paid orders
If a customer paid through the old Designs flow before it retired:
- Their confirmation or thank-you link still resolves.
- The status route still returns the linked production job and its tracking token.
- Wraptor administrators finish fulfillment from the Ops hub's Orders tab; the old
/admin/design-ordersaddress redirects there. - The signed Stripe webhook still accepts events for payments that were already created.
The retired flow cannot take a new order.
