Marketing — leads, your listing, and the tools that promote your work
Who it's for
Marketing is for the owner or manager growing the shop's book of business: the person who answers new inquiries the day they land, keeps the public directory listing sharp so customers can find them, puts an instant-estimate tool on the shop's website, emails past customers to drum up repeat work, and turns a finished wrap into a social post that brings in the next job.
Where it fits
There is no single Marketing page any more. The growth tools sit in three homes, grouped in the sidebar under Growth and Studio:
- Leads (
/leads) — demand coming in. Tabs: Leads, Listing, Reviews — plus Calls only once call tracking is switched on for your shop. - Web Presence (
/website) — your shop's face on the internet. Tabs: Website and Magic Wrap. - WrapStudio → Promote (
/studio?tab=promote) — putting your work back out. Sections: Campaigns, Newsletter, Autopilots.
Old addresses still land somewhere real: every /marketing?tab=…§ion=… link, plus /marketing/listing, /marketing/newsletter, /marketing/reviews, /marketing/social and /marketing/autopilots, redirects to its new home, so bookmarks and links inside Wraptor emails keep working.
See workflow-map.md for the lifecycle these surfaces sit in, and personas.md for who works where.
Overview
The growth tools, by job:
- Lead Inbox — every inquiry in one filterable list: leads from your directory listing, from your hosted website and Magic Wrap embed, and from forwarded email. See who wants what vehicle done, message the customer in-thread, price it, or turn it into a job. Contact details are included on every plan and during the trial.
- Listing — your public directory listing (the shop card customers find when they search): services, brands, contact details, map, and booking. Buy a featured boost to pin yourself above other shops, and apply for the Wraptor-Approved trust badge.
- Reviews — what the automatic review requests have done: how many were sent, how many were clicked, and how many reviews landed, with a per-recipient Don't ask again.
- Calls — the call log for your tracking number, next to the lead inbox. It only appears once call tracking is switched on for your shop. See Calls.
- Website — your hosted shop site, with the full-screen editor behind it. See Website.
- Magic Wrap — one embed for any website: an instant price range, an AI wrap designer, or both, under your brand. Every completed request lands in your Lead Inbox. This replaced the separate Estimator tab; the old estimator embed code keeps working and now shows this tool.
- Campaigns — your finished Studio renders, ready to caption, copy, and post. (This was the Social tab.)
- Newsletter — a branded email campaign sent to your opted-in customers and subscribers, with Write with AI to draft the subject and body from a one-line topic.
- Autopilots — a read-only gallery of every automation engine with real 30-day counts. See Autopilots.
Every one of these hubs opens on every plan and during the 7-day free trial (no card required; no automatic charge). There is no free plan: a shop without a plan lands on the plan picker instead, and its data is kept. Two things here cost money to run and need a live plan or trial: the Newsletter, and the hosted Website. AI drafting (newsletter copy, captions) spends AI credits — a monthly allowance on a paid plan, a one-time 15 during the trial.
Screens & navigation
Leads → Leads (/leads)
The lead inbox. A header counts the leads waiting on you with a line about answering fast, and shows jobs won and revenue collected from leads once you have any. Under it, filter chips: All · Directory · Website · Email · Working · Parked. Website and Email only appear once you actually have leads from those sources. Three stats — Total leads, This week, Converted.
Each lead card shows the customer, contact details, vehicle, service, and timing. Revealed contacts are live click-to-call and mailto links. Actions on a card:
- Create quote — opens a draft quote with the customer and vehicle already filled in.
- Convert to job — creates the job and opens it.
- Message the customer — a two-way thread. Your reply goes out by email from the directory's own address, with your shop's name in the subject line and the signature, and a button back to the customer's request page; their answer lands in the same thread.
- Park — sets the lead aside into Leads → Parked; Bring back returns it.
Working lists the jobs sitting in your Lead stage (they stay live on the board too). Parked holds Parked jobs and Parked leads. Below the inbox, a Re-wrap pipeline card lists registered warranties expiring in the next 90 days — each row opens the original job. The card only appears once you have warranties coming due.
Leads → Listing (/leads?tab=directory)
If you have no listing yet, this tab prompts you to get listed first. With one, it opens on a Listing activity line — views, quote requests, and how many leads are claimed by you — then two cards and the editor:
- Featured placement — pin your shop to the top of your city, state, and service directory results. Pick a duration and pay; if you're already featured the buttons read Extend.
- Wraptor-Approved — apply for the trust badge customers see in the directory. Free to apply. Apply opens a short form: contact name and email, years in business, My shop is licensed, My shop carries liability insurance, Proof of insurance, Portfolio photos (1–6), and an optional note, then Submit application. The card then reads Application under review, Approved, or Coming soon to your state.
Below them, Your directory listing — a live editor with a preview beside it. Edit Shop name, Phone, Website, Address, Map image URL; pick your Services (Wraps, PPF, Tint, Signs, Lettering, Ceramic, Detailing); list the Brands used; and tick Online booking available. Your Google rating and reviews are synced from Google and can't be edited here; social links are edited on Settings → General → Shop Settings, and the price bands your listing publishes on Settings → General → Directory price range. Preview listing opens the customer's view, View public page opens the real one, and a sticky bar with Discard and Save changes appears as soon as you change anything.
Leads → Reviews (/leads?tab=reviews)
Until either a Google review link is saved or your directory listing is claimed, this tab shows Add your Google review link to turn this on with an Open settings button. Once one of those exists: stat tiles Requests sent, Clicked through, Click rate, Reviews landed; two engine cards, Google asks and Wraptor listing asks; a table of every ask (Date, Recipient, Channel, Status) with Don't ask again on each row; a Reviews received list; and a Suppressed contacts list with Allow again. The switch, the destination, the delay and the Google review link itself all live on Settings → Communications → Customer messages → Review request.
Web Presence → Website (/website)
Your hosted shop site: a live thumbnail with a Live or Offline badge, the address it publishes to, a page and photo count, Open editor →, and Generate with AI. The full write-up is in Website.
Web Presence → Magic Wrap (/website?tab=magic-wrap)
One setup screen for the embed that goes on any website. Install on your website sits at the top and stays visible: it carries the status (Live, Offline, Needs save, or Not published), the embed code, Copy embed code, Open live, and Rotate key. Before you have a code it says to turn on at least one experience below and save once.
What visitors can do has two switches:
- Instant estimate — visitors enter their vehicle, pick a coverage, and get your price range in seconds. Uses no AI credits.
- AI wrap designer — visitors build three AI wrap concepts on their own vehicle, pick one, and arrive with the design attached. It carries a Max visitor runs per day ceiling and shows the AI credits that ceiling can spend. On plans that don't include it, the row is locked with an Eligible plan chip and a See plans link.
Below that, Appearance (six themes — Clean, Carbon, Midnight, Blueprint, Showroom, Street — plus an accent colour, an optional headline, and rounded or sharp corners) and Coverage price ranges for Lettering, Sides + Rear (3/4 Wrap), and Full Wrap — each either Automatic (from your active materials and lowest labor rate) or a custom dollar range. A Live preview of the real widget sits alongside. On your own Wrapsite you don't need the code at all: add the Magic Wrap section in the site editor.
When your plan includes the AI wrap designer, a second card sits under the setup card: Wraptor marketplace, marked Separate opt-in. It carries one switch per listing — Appear in Magic Wrap matches — and starts off. It is directory matching, not your embed: switching it on lets Wraptor customers compare your published range and pick your shop. A listing has to be claimed, approved, and carry a usable location before the switch can be turned on.
WrapStudio → Promote → Campaigns (/studio?tab=promote)
Your finished Studio renders — images and videos — ready to post. The section is called Campaigns in the sub-nav; the panel itself is still headed Social, under From your Studio renders. Once you've saved social profiles in your shop settings, a Post to row links out to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. Each card carries the render, its mode badge, and three buttons: Caption (or Regenerate) to draft three captions with AI, Copy link, and Download. Generated captions are click-to-copy. Caption spends one AI credit per press, so it needs a plan with AI credits; Copy link and Download work on every plan. With no renders yet the panel says so and offers Open Studio.
WrapStudio → Promote → Newsletter (/studio?tab=promote§ion=newsletter)
An audience strip — N customers opted in · M subscribers — which adds K customers with an email not opted in and an Opt in all K button whenever there are any. Under it, your campaigns table: Subject, Created, Status (Draft, or Sent with the date), Recipients. Compose opens the editor. Without a live plan or trial the section shows Newsletters are a paid feature and a View plans button.
Compose (/marketing/newsletter/compose)
Write with AI takes a one-line topic and Generate drafts the subject and body; the credit line underneath shows how many AI credits you've used this month. Then Subject line and Body, a test-address field with Send Test, and the send button, which names its audience: Send to N recipients. Underneath it tells you how many sends you have left this month, or refuses when your audience is over your plan's recipient limit. Drafts autosave; a sent campaign is locked from further editing.
WrapStudio → Promote → Autopilots (/studio?tab=promote§ion=autopilots)
Every automation engine your shop can run — Quote Chaser, Dead-Quote Win-Back, Review Flywheel, Job Ready Notify, Appointment Reminders, and Lead Second Touch (once you have directory leads) — each with a status pill (On, Off, Needs setup, Platform-managed), a plain-English description, a 30-day sent count, and a Manage or Set up link. The page itself is read-only: the switches live on Settings → Communications → Customer messages, except Lead Second Touch, whose link goes to Settings → Communications → Team notifications because it alerts you, not the customer. See Autopilots.
Capabilities
Capture and work leads
- One filterable inbox over directory, website, Magic Wrap, and forwarded-email leads.
- Full contact details on every plan, as live call and email links.
- Message the customer in-thread — your reply is emailed, and on a directory request it also shows on the customer's own request page; their answer returns to the same thread.
- Price it (Create quote) or start the work (Convert to job) without retyping the customer and vehicle.
- Park anything you're not chasing, and bring it back later.
- Watch the count: total leads, this week, converted — plus jobs won and revenue collected once leads start closing.
Own your directory listing
- Edit services, brands, contact details, map, and online-booking status, with a live preview and a View public page link.
- See what the listing is doing: views, quote requests, and leads claimed by you.
- Buy a featured boost to rank above other shops for a set window, and extend it.
- Apply for the Wraptor-Approved badge and track its status.
Put an instant-estimate tool on any website
- One embed code for both experiences; paste it into an HTML block on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, or anywhere else.
- Style it once — theme, accent, headline, corners — and preview the real widget while you work.
- Set automatic or custom price ranges per coverage package.
- Every completed request arrives as a lead, tagged Website in the inbox.
- Rotate key issues a new code and kills every old embed.
Ask for reviews and see what happened
- Requests send themselves when a job reaches its finished stage, held back by the Send after delay if you set one.
- Separate counts for Google asks and Wraptor-listing asks, because only the listing ask can be counted all the way through.
- Silence a recipient with Don't ask again, and undo it with Allow again.
Send branded newsletters
- Compose with your shop's branding; Write with AI drafts subject and body from a topic.
- Send a test to yourself before the real send.
- Reach opted-in customers plus your subscribers — duplicates across both lists are removed automatically, and unsubscribed addresses are skipped.
- Newsletters send from your shop's WrapMail inbox, so they come from your address and replies come back to you.
Package work for social
- Pull your finished Studio renders (images and videos) into Campaigns.
- Generate captions with AI and copy them straight out.
- Copy the media link or download the file, then post using your saved profile links.

- Click Caption for AI captions, copy one, then Copy link or Download the media and post it.
Settings & permissions
Who can open what
- Leads, Web Presence and WrapStudio → Promote all need the Marketing permission ("Public listing, site, campaigns & newsletter"). By default only the built-in Manager role holds it — Designer, Production and Installer do not, so a member with one of those roles never sees these tabs.
- The Magic Wrap tab additionally needs Billing & Quotes, the same permission that covers quotes, invoices and the estimator.
- The other WrapStudio tabs (Design, Showcase, Convert, Colors) are gated separately; see Studio.
- Calls only appears once call tracking is switched on for your shop.
What your plan changes
- Lead Inbox, Listing, Reviews, Campaigns — open on every plan and during the 7-day free trial (no card required), with full lead contact details. There is no free plan: a shop without a plan lands on the plan picker, and still gets each directory lead — contact details included — by email, with a link to start the trial. The inbox's Email source is the one exception — forwarded-email leads are created by WrapMail, so they only arrive on a paid plan.
- Newsletter — needs a live plan or the trial; a lapsed subscription locks it until billing is current. Wraptor Starter includes 2 sends a month to an audience of up to 2,500; Wraptor Shop 8 sends to 20,000; Wraptor Fleet 20 sends to 50,000. If a send fails for every recipient it doesn't count against the limit, and a retry picks up where it stopped rather than double-sending.
- AI drafting (newsletter copy and captions) — each generation spends one AI credit. Paid plans carry a monthly allowance (Starter 60, Shop 500, Fleet 1,000); the trial carries a one-time 15.
- Website — the hosted site comes with the paid plans, from Wraptor Starter up, and on a live trial.
- Magic Wrap — the Instant estimate experience works on any plan and costs no credits. The AI wrap designer needs an eligible plan: on the current catalog that's Wraptor Fleet (grandfathered Wraptor Pro (original) shops keep it too). Without it the row is locked and can't be saved on.
- Locked surfaces show a plan card rather than a dead end — View plans on the Newsletter, Start a paid-plan trial → on the Website. See Plans.
Where the sending is configured
- Newsletters go out through your shop's WrapMail inbox, so they come from your own address on
wrapmail.netand replies land in your Inbox. If no inbox is set up, the send tells you so. Wraptor Starter includes one mailbox, Wraptor Shop up to three, Wraptor Fleet up to five. - Every automatic customer email — including review requests — is switched, timed, and logged on Settings → Communications → Customer messages. That page also holds your Google review link, the Ask on destination (Google, Wraptor listing, or Both), the Send after delay, and quiet hours.
Tips & common pitfalls
- Leads is one list, not five. The chips are filters over the same inbox — All shows every non-empty source at once, so you don't have to remember where a customer came from.
- The listing is your front door. Keep services, brands, and booking accurate; it's the card customers see in the directory. A featured boost and the Wraptor-Approved badge both help you stand out.
- Answer first. Directory customers get their own request page showing the stages of their request — Request received, Sent to shops near you, A shop picked it up, Booked as a job — plus every shop reply. The first shop to write usually wins the job.
- Park instead of ignoring. A lead you're not chasing belongs in Parked, not at the bottom of the inbox. One tap brings it back.
- The embed code lives under Web Presence. Open Web Presence → Magic Wrap and use Install on your website. If you already had the old estimator or Magic Wrap code on a page, leave it — it now serves this unified tool.
- Rotating the key breaks every old embed. Rotate key is for a leaked code, not a routine action: every page still running the old snippet goes dark until you paste the new one.
- Studio makes, Campaigns packages. You can't create art on the Campaigns section — design or generate it in Studio first; finished renders then show up here automatically.
- Test before you send. Always use Send Test to see a newsletter in a real inbox before it reaches your list.
- Sent is final. Once a newsletter is sent it can't be edited — start a new draft instead.
- Your audience is opted-in only. New and imported customers start opted out. The audience strip tells you how many have an email but no opt-in, and Opt in all fixes it in one click; every send still carries a one-click unsubscribe.
- Nothing texts. Review requests and every other automatic customer message go out by email today. The Reviews page subtitle still says "email and SMS"; text messages are not switched on.
- Autopilots has no switches. It reports what the engines sent; use its Manage links to reach the actual switch on Settings → Communications → Customer messages.
