Ops — your shop's daily open/run/close checklist

In the app this screen is the Today tab on Home. There is no separate Daily Ops page in the sidebar any more; an old /ops link redirects here.

Who it's for

Owners and managers set up the routine; production and design staff run through it every day. Daily Ops is the shared checklist that makes sure nothing gets skipped between unlocking in the morning and locking up at night — alarm on, ink checked, vehicles photographed, trash out, doors locked.

Members on the built-in Installer role don't reach this screen: Wraptor sends them to My Jobs from any /dashboard address. The same Daily Ops permission powers the focused work view on the job they're assigned.

Where it fits

Daily Ops sits alongside the production day. It isn't tied to any one job — it's the shop-level routine that keeps the floor running. It shares the Home hub with the Dashboard overview: Overview is the read on the shop's numbers, Today is the read on the shop's routine. See workflow-map.md and personas.md.

Overview

Daily Ops is one tab showing today's checklist, split into three parts of the day:

  • Opening — what you do when you arrive (unlock and disarm, lights and HVAC, voicemail, review the schedule, check materials).
  • Production — the running checks during the workday (ink levels, vehicle arrivals, condition photos, status updates, quality checks).
  • Closing — wrapping up (clean work areas, store materials, take out trash, set the alarm, lock up).

Each part carries its own count and progress bar, and a Today's Progress card above them shows the shop's total — tasks done out of tasks on the list — beside a Completion percentage, with a bar under both that fills as the team checks things off. Completions are tracked by date, so every morning starts fresh.

Your shop starts with a ready-made list of 21 common tasks, seven in each part of the day. You can tailor that list to how your shop actually works: add your own steps, rename them, remove the ones you don't use.

Screens & navigation

Home → Today (/dashboard?tab=today) Click Home in the sidebar, then the Today tab. On a phone, Home sits in the More sheet for most roles (a Production role gets it as one of the four bottom tabs), and the screen's own header reads Operations.

The tab shows today's date across the top with the Customize and Reset buttons, then the Today's Progress card, then the three checklists — Opening, Production and Closing side by side on a wide screen, stacked on a phone — with a Daily Notes card at the bottom.

  • Check a task off — tap its checkbox. It's marked done for today and the completion time prints under it. Tap again to undo.
  • Customize — turns on edit mode, where you add, rename and remove tasks. The button becomes Done, and the progress card, the per-section counts and bars, and the Daily Notes box all step aside for a note reminding you that changes apply to all future days.
  • Reset — clears today's checkmarks. It asks first and can't be undone. It's hidden while you're in edit mode.
  • Daily Notes — a free-text box at the bottom of the tab. It is a scratch surface only: nothing typed there is saved, and it clears when the page reloads. For notes that stick, use the sticky-note Notes & Tasks button in the top bar — its Todos and Scratch Pad both belong to the whole shop, so what one person writes there the next person reads. That button shows on every plan, the trial included.

Capabilities

Run the daily checklist

  • Three grouped checklists — Opening, Production, Closing.
  • Check off each task as you complete it; the time is recorded and shown under the task.
  • Per-section counts and bars, plus the overall Today's Progress count and Completion percentage.
  • Uncheck a task if you marked it by mistake.
  • Everyone on the floor works the same list and sees the same checkmarks. Wraptor records when a task was ticked, not who ticked it.

Customize the routine

  • Add a task to any of the three groups: type it into the Add a task... box under that group and press Enter or the + button.
  • Rename an existing task with the pencil.
  • Remove a task you don't use with the bin.
  • Your changes become the standard list for every future day.
  • Tasks stay in the order they were added within their group. There's no drag-to-reorder yet, even though a grip handle shows beside each row in edit mode.

Start fresh

  • Completions are tracked by date, so each day stands on its own and the list is clear every morning.
  • Reset clears today's completions so you (or the next shift) can run the list again. It confirms first — Reset today's checklist? — and the dialog tells you how many ticks it will undo.

Step-by-step tasks

  1. Run your opening routine

    1. Click Home in the sidebar, then the Today tab.
    2. Work down the Opening list, checking off each step as you go.
    3. Watch the section count climb — when Opening is full, you're set to start the day.
  2. Tailor the checklist to your shop

    1. On Home → Today, click Customize.
    2. Add the steps your shop actually does with the Add a task... box under each group, rename anything that doesn't match your wording with the pencil, and remove what you don't use with the bin.
    3. Click Done. Your list is now the standard for every day going forward.
  3. Close out and reset for tomorrow

    1. At the end of the day, complete the Closing list (clean up, store materials, set alarm, lock up).
    2. The next morning the checklist is clear again automatically.
    3. If you need to clear today's checkmarks mid-day (for a second shift, say), click Reset, then Reset checklist to confirm. Keep them backs out.

Settings & permissions

Who can see and use Daily Ops

Access is controlled by the Daily Ops permission, granted in Shop → Team → Roles & Permissions (see Team). All four built-in roles — Manager, Designer, Production and Installer — hold it out of the box, so Daily Ops is a shared, everyone-on-the-floor tool. Take it off a role and those members lose the Today tab as well as the work view on their assigned jobs.

The Overview tab beside it needs the separate Dashboard permission, which only the Manager role holds by default. A Designer or Production member who clicks Home lands on Overview first and gets sent to the Jobs board — reach the checklist directly at /dashboard?tab=today and bookmark it, or add Dashboard to the role.

Plan availability

Daily Ops is open on every plan and during the 7-day free trial. There is no Ops add-on — nothing on this tab is gated by plan. There is no free plan; a shop without a plan lands on the plan picker, and canceling keeps its data.

Tips & common pitfalls

  • It's a shop routine, not a job task list. Daily Ops covers the whole shop's day. For step-by-step checklists tied to a specific job and its stage (preflight, install, completion), use the checklist on the job itself — see Jobs.
  • Customize once, benefit every day. The starter list is a generic template. Spend a few minutes editing it to match your shop, and every future day's checklist fits how you actually work.
  • Reset is per day, and it's a one-way door. It clears every checkmark the shop made today, for everyone, with no undo — that's why it asks. It doesn't change your task list; your customized tasks stay put.
  • Don't empty the list. If you delete every task, Wraptor treats the shop as brand new and seeds the 21 starter tasks again the next time the tab loads. Keep at least one of your own.
  • Deleting a task deletes its history. Removing a task also drops the record of every day it was ticked off. If you only want different wording, rename it instead.
  • Daily Notes doesn't save. Anything typed in the box at the bottom is gone on reload. Put shift hand-offs and reminders in the top-bar Notes & Tasks panel (every plan, trial included) or in the notes on the job they belong to.
  • If the list won't load, the tab says "We couldn't load today's checklist." with a Try again button. Your checkmarks are safe — that's a display problem, not lost work.
  • Best on the shop floor. The tab is built to be glanced at and ticked off as you move through the day. On a phone it's under More → Home → Today for most roles.
  • Dashboard overview — the other tab on Home, and where low-ink warnings and the day's briefing actually live.
  • Jobs — per-job checklists and time tracking live on the job, not here.
  • My Jobs — where the Installer role runs its day instead.
  • Inventory — the starter steps Check printer ink levels and Verify material inventory for today's jobs point back at your stock.
  • Calendar — the starter step Review today's schedule reflects what's booked.
  • Team — where the Daily Ops permission is granted or removed.
  • Workflow map — where the daily routine fits the bigger picture.
  • Personas — who uses Daily Ops.
