Directory — get found, get leads, claim your shop free
Verified owners get a free FindAWrap workspace at /directory-dashboard. The full Wraptor app remains subscription based.
Who it's for
The Directory has two audiences. For customers searching "wrap shop near me," it's a public, no-login site for browsing and comparing installers by city and service, then requesting a quote. For shop owners, it's where your shop already has a listing — Wraptor builds listings from public business data — and where you can claim it for free to catch those quote requests and run the shop on Wraptor.
Where it fits
The consumer directory is its own website, findawrap.com, separate from wraptor.app and from your dashboard. A wraptor.app/shops link redirects there. It's a public customer touchpoint like the Track, proof-approval and pay pages, but it sits before someone becomes your customer: it's how new work finds you.
Every directory request reaches you by email. Verified owners can handle these requests in the free FindAWrap workspace: customer details, reference photos, private notes, one quote per request, follow-up dates, and simple job tracking. Claiming and using this workspace need no card. Full Wraptor subscribers also have the Lead Inbox at /leads and can edit their listing at Leads → Listing. The workspace’s Grow with Wraptor tab explains the full platform and offers demo booking.
Overview
The directory is a drill-down: Browse shops → state → city → shop, with a service page under each city (window tint in Austin, PPF in Austin, and so on).
- City pages ("Best Wrap Shops in Austin, TX") list every installer in town with its rating, services and brands, plus FAQs and a Can't decide? Get quotes from multiple {city} shops block. When at least 3 shops in that city publish their own price ranges for a service, the page quotes a real sourced figure for that city instead of the generic industry range.
- Shop profile pages show one shop in full, in this order: badges, the Google rating, address and a location card, From the Owner, About {shop}, Services, Brands Used, Hours, Good to Know, Portfolio and Recent Work when there are any, Frequently Asked Questions, the verified reviews, the quote button, and Other top wrap shops in {city}.
- Claimed shops (shops on Wraptor) wear a Verified shop badge, show a tappable phone number and a Visit Website link, and — on any plan, the trial included — add Recent Work, Follow {shop} social links and Quick Contact.
- Unclaimed shops still appear, but no phone number or website is shown on the page at all — those details ride only in the page's structured data, for search engines. The quote form captures the lead instead, and an Is this your shop? panel offers Claim This Listing.
Other badges on a profile: Verified Google profile, Featured (a paid placement) and the trust badge you apply for from the Wraptor-Approved card.
Screens & navigation
On the public directory (findawrap.com) the nav is Browse shops, Get a wrap and Estimate cost. Customers usually arrive from Google or a shared link rather than the nav, and nothing there asks them to sign in.
In your dashboard your listing lives on the Leads hub:
- Leads → Listing (
/leads?tab=directory) — a Listing activity line (views · quote requests · claimed by you), the Featured placement card, the Wraptor-Approved card, and the Your directory listing editor with Preview listing and View public page. A shop with no listing yet sees Get listed on Wraptor instead: shop name, city, state and its two-letter code, then Get listed. - Leads → Leads — the inbox every directory request lands in.
- Leads → Reviews — what the automatic review requests have done.
Marketing documents those three tabs in full.
Capabilities
Get found
- Your shop is listed by city and by service, with the rating and review count synced from Google, so customers comparing installers can find you.
Capture quote requests
- Customers fill in Your name, Phone or email, Vehicle, Service and Timeline, plus an optional note, optional photos and a text-message consent box. No account needed on their end.
- You get an email with the request and a bell: New lead: {service} on a {vehicle}.
Customers actually hear back
- Every request gets a personal tracking page, shown on screen the moment it's sent and emailed too when the customer left an email address. Its timeline reads Request received → Sent to shops near you → A shop picked it up → Booked as a job.
- Your reply from the Lead Inbox is emailed to the customer and posted on that page under Shop responses, where they can write back — their answer returns to the same thread.
- If nobody picks a request up within 48 hours, a customer who left an email address gets one "we're still working on connecting you with the right shop" email carrying the same tracking link.
Broadcast to a whole city
- An undecided customer can send one request to every shop in their city at once. Every listing in that city gets its own copy of the request — signed-up Wraptor shops see theirs in their Lead Inbox — and the customer gets one link that tracks them all.
Leads from listings nobody has claimed
- A request on an unclaimed listing is also fanned out to signed-up Wraptor shops nearby: exact-city matches first, then shops with coordinates within 50 miles, nearest first, up to 8 in total. Shops without a plan are included: they get the real lead by email, with a note that the trial is there when they want to work it in Wraptor.
Claim your listing free
- Claiming verifies you by email, creates your Wraptor account, and hands over the waiting customer's full contact details. The listing stays free; the app opens with the 7-day free trial.
Edit your own listing
- From Leads → Listing you keep the shop name, phone, website, address, map image, services, brands and the online-booking flag current, with a live preview beside you.
Stand out on a plan
- Shops on any plan (the trial counts) add Recent Work (your last six Studio renders), Follow {shop} social links and Quick Contact (your WrapMail address) to the public profile.
Featured placement (paid)
- Buy a featured slot to pin your shop to the top of your city page, the service pages under it, and the Other top wrap shops in {city} block on every other profile in town: Feature 30 days · $49 or Feature 90 days · $129. You also wear a Featured badge. Buying again while you're still featured extends the window instead of resetting it, and the slot expires on its own.
Wraptor-Approved badge
- In select states — currently NJ and NY — you can apply for the trust badge. It's free to apply, and approved shops wear it on the public profile.
Book and design straight from the listing
- A claimed shop with online booking switched on shows Book an appointment beside Get a quote → — see Booking.
- A shop on Wraptor Fleet with Magic Wrap switched on also shows Design my wrap, as long as the listing carries the wraps service — see Designs.
Verified customer reviews
- After a job is finished, Wraptor emails the customer a review link. There are two doors: a customer who came from a directory request reviews from their tracking page once it reads Booked as a job; a walk-in gets their own one-job review page. Either way it is one review per job, tied to real work.
- The form is Leave a review — a star rating, Your name, and an optional Review. Reviews show on the profile with a Verified customer badge in their own section, deliberately kept apart from the scraped Google rating at the top of the page.
- Reviews also feed the page's structured data: individual reviews from the first one, and the star rating shown in search switches from Google's to your verified average once you have 3 or more.
Self-reported price bands
- A shop can publish its own price range per service from Settings → Directory price range — Vehicle Wrap Installation, Paint Protection Film (PPF), Automotive Window Tint, Commercial Signs and Graphics, Vehicle Lettering and Decals, Ceramic Coating, Auto Detailing. Off by default.
- Once on, each of those services on your profile carries a from $X figure, with the line Pricing self-reported by {your shop} underneath — never presented as Wraptor-verified market data.
- On a city page, when 3 or more shops publish a band for the same service, Wraptor averages their ranges into a typical price for that city. Below three the page keeps the generic industry copy, so one shop's numbers can never read as the city average.
Step-by-step tasks
-
(Customer) Request a quote from a shop
- Open the shop's profile page.
- Click Get a quote → and fill in your name, phone or email, vehicle, service and timeline. Add a note or photos if they help.
- Submit. You'll see Request sent to {shop} with a Track your request → link. If you gave an email address, the same link is emailed to you.
-
(Customer) Get quotes from every shop in a city
- On a city page, scroll to Can't decide? Get quotes from multiple {city} shops.
- Fill in your details once.
- Click Get quotes from all {city} shops →. Every shop in that city receives your request, and one tracking link follows all of them.
-
(Owner) Claim your listing for free
- Find your shop and click Claim This Listing — or open the claim link in the email Wraptor sent you about a waiting request.
- Click Email me a verification link. Wraptor emails the address on file for the listing; click that link to carry on. If the listing has no email on file, or you can't reach that inbox, use Can't access that email? Request manual review — Wraptor reviews it and emails you back, usually within a business day.
- Sign up (or sign in). The listing is stamped as yours.
- You land on the plan picker with Your listing is claimed. — the requests it sends keep arriving by email either way, and starting the 7-day trial (no card required) opens the Lead Inbox, where any waiting request shows full contact details.
-
(Owner) Keep your listing accurate
- Go to Leads → Listing.
- Edit the details, pick your Services and Brands used, and tick Online booking available if you take bookings.
- Use Preview listing to check the customer's view, then click Save changes on the bar that appears at the bottom (Discard throws the edits away). Google's rating and reviews are synced and can't be edited here; social links live in Settings.
-
(Owner) Buy featured placement
- Go to Leads → Listing → Featured placement.
- Click Feature 30 days · $49 or Feature 90 days · $129 and pay.
- The card then reads Featured until {date} and the buttons become Extend 30 days · $49 and Extend 90 days · $129.
-
(Owner) Apply for the Wraptor-Approved badge
- Go to Leads → Listing → Wraptor-Approved and click Apply.
- Enter contact name, contact email and years in business, tick My shop is licensed and My shop carries liability insurance, then upload Proof of insurance and 1–6 Portfolio photos.
- Click Submit application. The card reads Application under review until Wraptor emails you. Outside NJ and NY it reads Coming soon to your state instead.
-
(Owner) Unlock the plan-only profile perks
-
(Customer) Leave a review after a finished job
- Open the review link the shop's Wraptor account emailed you after the job — or, if you came from a directory request, open your tracking page once it shows Booked as a job.
- Pick a star rating, check Your name, and add a comment if you want.
- Click Submit review. It appears on the shop's profile with a Verified customer badge.
-
(Owner) Publish your own price ranges
- Go to Settings → Directory price range.
- Enter a minimum and maximum for each service you want to publish, then click Save price bands.
- Turn Show your pricing publicly on. A from $X figure appears beside each priced service on your listing.
Settings & permissions
Browsing and quoting are public Anyone can browse the directory and send a quote request without logging in. There is no permission to configure.
Claiming needs email verification, then a sign-up Claiming creates a shop account and opens the owner’s free FindAWrap workspace. Only directory requests tied to the owner’s active claimed listing qualify. There is no way to add unrelated customers, leads, jobs, or extra quotes here. Paid Wraptor access follows the normal Plans and Team rules.
Your listing is yours to edit; Google's data is not The listing editor is at Leads → Listing and needs the Marketing permission. Google's rating, review count and profile verification are synced from Google and can't be changed in Wraptor. Listings are built from public business data, so a shop can appear on the directory before anyone claims it.
Lead contact details are open on every plan Every plan, and the trial, sees the customer's name, phone and email in the Lead Inbox; a shop without a plan gets the same details in the lead email. What stays hidden is the public teaser on an unclaimed listing's claim page: the name is masked and the contact rows are blurred under Unlocks the moment you claim.
Plan-only perks Recent Work, social links and the quick-contact email on your public profile need a plan — any plan, and the trial counts; a no-plan shop's listing goes without them — see Plans. Design my wrap on the listing needs Wraptor Fleet, Magic Wrap switched on, and the wraps service on the listing.
Review requests are a setting; price bands are opt-in The review ask, where it points (Ask on — Google, Wraptor listing or Both) and how long after the job it goes out (Send after hours) all live on Settings → Customer messages → Review request. Left alone, it asks on Google when a Google review link is saved, and on your listing when your listing is claimed. Price bands are off by default; the bands and the Show your pricing publicly switch both need the Settings permission.
Tips & common pitfalls
- Leads land in your Lead Inbox. Directory requests show up at
/leads. Requests that arrived before you claimed are re-parented to you at claim time. - Set your shop's city. Leads from unclaimed listings are routed on your shop's city and coordinates, so a shop with no city set is invisible to that fan-out.
- Unclaimed listings show no contact details at all. Not a greyed-out number — the phone and website rows simply aren't rendered. That's deliberate: it pushes the customer into the quote form so the lead is captured. Claim the listing to show a tappable phone number and a Visit Website link.
- The claimed-shop badge reads "Verified shop". It tells customers you're an active, reachable business.
- Featured is a city-level lift, not a statewide one. The card's own wording says "city, state, and service", but the state page ranks its Top-rated wrap shops in {state} list on Google rating and review volume and ignores featured entirely. What you actually buy is the top of your city page, the top of that city's service pages, and the top of the Other top wrap shops in {city} block on your neighbours' profiles.
- A review has to be earned. There is no button anywhere to write one on a customer's behalf. The ask goes out automatically after a job is finished, and only that customer can submit it, once per job.
- Price bands are your own numbers. Wraptor doesn't suggest a range or verify what you type; the profile labels it self-reported, and keeping it honest and current is on you.
- City-wide typical pricing needs 3 or more shops. With one or two, the city page keeps the generic industry range rather than exposing a single shop's numbers as the city average.
- Thin pages are kept out of Google on purpose. An unclaimed listing is only indexed with a Google rating of 4.0 or better, at least 10 Google reviews and a street address; city pages with fewer than 3 shops and service pages with fewer than 5 are excluded too. A claimed listing is always indexed — claiming is the fastest fix.
- The broadcast option reaches competitors too. When a customer sends one request to a whole city, every shop gets it. Speed of response wins the job.
- Slow replies get nudged. A request nobody picks up in 48 hours prompts an email inviting the customer to browse more shops.
