My Jobs — the work-home for the Installer role

Who it's for

My Jobs is the work-home for a teammate on the built-in Installer role — someone the shop invited under Shop → Team and gave that role. Instead of the full board and the shop dashboard, they get one screen: the jobs assigned to them, grouped by stage. It's deliberately stripped down to "what do I work next?", with no shop-management screens in the way.

It is not the screen an independent installer sees. An account that picked Independent installer in the first-run picker owns its own shop, so it gets the whole app and lands on My Listing instead — see Installers and Personas.

Anyone else holding the Jobs permission can open /my-jobs by typing the address. It just isn't in their navigation.

Where it fits

My Jobs sits in the production stage of the job workflow. A shop books and prepares a job on its Jobs board and adds you under Team on the job panel; from that moment the job appears here. For a member on the Installer role, My Jobs replaces Home — /dashboard, and every shop screen outside their short rail, redirects back to it.

Overview

My Jobs is a single page at /my-jobs. It lists the open jobs assigned to you — not the whole board — as cards grouped by workflow stage, in the same stage order the shop uses. Within each stage the cards are sorted by due date, with undated jobs last, so the top of the page is what is due soonest.

Tapping a card does not open the shop's job panel. It opens the work view at /jobs/<id>/work: a phone-sized screen with the stage strip, Advance stage, timers and the job's checklists. That is where the work actually gets logged.

Jobs drop off the list when they are completed, put on hold or parked. Nothing is claimed or refreshed by hand — assignment is the only way a job arrives.

Screens & navigation

My Jobs (/my-jobs)

For a member on the Installer role this is the first item in the sidebar and the first tab in the phone's bottom bar. The rail holds three destinations — My Jobs, Schedule and Team Chat — with Docs and Help in the footer. On a phone those three sit beside a More button that holds Install app and Sign out. The top bar shows the page name and your account button, and nothing else: no search, no notification bell, no Create button, no upgrade pill.

The page itself:

  • A heading — My jobs — with a line under it: "3 jobs assigned to you." When any are past due, a red "1 overdue." is appended. The line is hidden when nothing is assigned.
  • One section per stage that has work in it, headed by the stage's colour dot, its name in small uppercase, and a count. Stages with nothing assigned are skipped.
  • A grid of cards inside each section, one per job. Each card carries the stage colour on its left edge and shows:
    • the job number, top left;
    • the due date top right with a calendar icon — it turns red and gains "· overdue" once the due day has passed (not on the day itself). Undated jobs show no date;
    • the customer name in bold (the company, or the contact, or the job title if neither is set);
    • the vehicle — year, make, model — underneath, when one is on file.
  • Any job whose status doesn't match one of the shop's active stages collects in a final Other section rather than disappearing.

If nothing is assigned yet you get an empty state: Nothing assigned right now, the note "When a job is assigned to you, it shows up here grouped by stage.", and a Browse all jobs button.

Work view (/jobs/<id>/work)

What a card opens. Top to bottom:

  • Header — the job number, the job title, vehicle · customer, and the job's description underneath if the shop wrote one.
  • Stage strip — every active stage as a chip with the current one highlighted, and a full-width Advance stage button below it. On the last stage (or a stage marked terminal) the button reads Completed and is disabled.
  • Time — an activity picker (Installation, Production, Removal, Design, Other) and a Start button. While a timer runs, the pair is replaced by a red Stop {activity} timer button. Finished entries list underneath as activity · who with the hours.
  • Checklists — one card per checklist on the job, headed by that checklist's own title, each item a tap to tick or untick. There is no Sign off button here.

Photos, files, proofs, quotes and customer contact details are not on this screen. It is the working surface, not the job record.

Capabilities

See your assigned work

  • Every open job assigned to you, grouped by stage in board order and sorted by due date inside each group.
  • Overdue work is called out twice: in the red count under the heading, and on the card itself.
  • The header count tells you how many jobs are on your plate.

Run the job from the work view

  • Start and stop a timer against one of five activities. Starting a timer stops any timer you already had running — on this job or another one — so you never bill two jobs at once.
  • Tick the stage's checklist items. Unticking an item on a checklist that was already signed off reopens it.
  • Move the job forward with Advance stage — the same door the shop uses from the board, so the move records status history, pings the people already assigned to the job whose role covers the next stage (unless the shop switched automatic crew pings off, and never on the final stage), fires any customer milestone email the shop turned on, and creates the next stage's checklist for you.

What isn't here, by design

No board, no customers or vehicles, no quoting or invoicing, no inventory, no settings, no Rex panel and no help dock. Money, customer and shop-management screens redirect back to My Jobs. The two things you do get beside this page are Schedule — the whole shop's calendar, opened with the Mine chip already on — and Team Chat, the way to reach the shop from inside the app (Messages).

Step-by-step tasks

  1. Check what's assigned to you

    1. Sign in — you land on My Jobs.
    2. Read the line under the heading for the total and the overdue count.
    3. Work down the stage sections; inside each one the soonest due date is first.
  2. Work a job

    1. Tap the card to open the work view.
    2. Pick your activity and tap Start.
    3. Tick checklist items as you go.
    4. Tap Stop {activity} timer when you break or finish.
    5. Tap Advance stage to move the job on.
  3. When Advance stage refuses

    1. A red That didn't go through toast names the reason instead of failing silently.
    2. "The '{stage}' checklist must be fully completed and signed off before this job can move forward." — finish the ticks, then ask the shop to sign the checklist off. Sign off lives on the job panel, which the Installer role can't open.
    3. "…still needs sign-off from a team member assigned to this job." — the ticks are done, the signature isn't.
    4. "…requires a signed-off checklist before jobs can move forward, but this job has no {stage} checklist yet." — the shop has to create it from the job's Checklist tab.
    5. "Already at the final stage" — the job is at the end of the board.
    6. A stage that deducts material can also refuse the move when there isn't enough stock.
  4. When nothing's there yet

    1. An empty page means no open job is assigned to you.
    2. Jobs appear the moment a shop assigns one — there is nothing to refresh or claim.
    3. Browse all jobs opens the shop board. On the Installer role that redirects straight back here; it is a working door only for staff who hold the wider job screens.

Settings & permissions

  • Who gets this rail. The stripped navigation belongs to the built-in Installer role. A shop owner or an internal admin keeps the full app even if their role is set to Installer, so a mis-set role can never lock a shop out of its own business.
  • Which permissions it needs. /my-jobs needs the Jobs permission; the work view — timers, checklists, Advance stage — needs Daily Ops. The Installer role holds both, plus Calendar, Messaging and Handbook.
  • How a job reaches you. The shop opens the job on its Jobs board and adds you under Team → Assign (the picker reads Add once someone is already on the job). Only jobs assigned to you appear here, and — if the shop scoped your account to particular locations — only from those. You can't pull in a job yourself.
  • Plan. An installer seat is a team seat: Wraptor Starter includes two, Shop and Fleet are unlimited, and the whole app — this surface included — is open during the 7-day free trial. There is no free plan; a shop without a plan lands on the plan picker. See Plans.
  • No setup of its own. My Jobs is a view — it has no settings. Your own profile page is still reachable at /profile, though nothing in the rail links to it.

Tips & common pitfalls

  • Cards open the work view, not the job record. If you're hunting for photos, proofs or the customer's phone number, they aren't on this screen — ask the shop in Team Chat.
  • Empty just means unassigned. A blank page isn't a bug; no open job has your name on it.
  • A job that vanished probably closed. Completed, on-hold and parked jobs leave the list. So do jobs at a location your account is scoped away from.
  • Overdue starts the day after. A job due today shows a plain date; the red "· overdue" appears from the following day.
  • One timer at a time. Starting a timer closes the one you left running elsewhere and books its elapsed hours — check the entry list if a total looks wrong.
  • A card from the Other section can't be advanced. If the job's status matches no active stage, the work view has nothing to step to: the button reads Completed and stays greyed out. Tell the shop — the stage was renamed or switched off under Settings → Workflow.
  • There's no bell. An installer's top bar has no notification bell, and the Push on this device switch lives in Settings → Team notifications, which this role can't open — so treat My Jobs as the place you check for new work. See Mobile App & Notifications.
  • The walkaround is on the shared link, not here. Check-in and check-out Condition Report cards only appear on the no-login installer link (/work/<token>) the shop texts you — the signed-in work view doesn't show them. See Inspections.
  • Built for the phone. My Jobs is the first tab in the mobile bottom bar, so you can check your next install from the floor.
  • Jobs — the shop-side board where jobs are created, assigned and tracked.
  • Calendar — the Schedule link in an installer's rail, filtered to Mine.
  • Messages — Team Chat, the installer's line to the shop.
  • Inspections — the check-in / check-out walkaround on the shared /work/<token> link.
  • Team — where the shop invites people and sets the Installer role.
  • Installers — the freelance network: public profiles, hire requests, escrow payments and payouts.
