Price wall, window and floor graphics by the square foot for each film, then add the site: wall texture, height and access, after-hours work, and removal. Published 2025–2026 prices for a printed, laminated wall wrap installed on smooth drywall run about $12–$25 per sq ft, and textured brick, block or stucco runs $25–$50. Installed frosted privacy film runs about $8–$20 per sq ft, while FedEx Office's print-only prices start at $13 per sq ft for wall graphics, $15 for window perf and $17 for non-slip floor graphics. Those print-only numbers are the floor your customer can find in five minutes; your installed price sits above them.
The short version
- •Quote each film as its own product. Wall vinyl, textured-wall film, perf, frost and floor laminate differ in cost, lifespan and install time.
- •Smooth drywall is the base price. About $12–$25 per sq ft printed, laminated and installed; textured walls need special film, heat and rollers, and cost more.
- •The wall decides whether the graphic sticks. Avery Dennison wants paint cured at least 7 days and warns against flat and matte paints. Test a strip for 2–3 days before you commit.
- •Access and hours are line items. One October 2026 listing in Freeport, NY, rents a 19-foot scissor lift for $159.60–$234 a day, and night installs cost more.
- •Floor graphics need a slip-rated laminate. In the US that means UL 410, and indoor floor laminates are rated in months, not years.
- •Price removal before you install. Window film removal runs $2–$3 per sq ft, and wall graphics can take weak paint with them.
Square-foot prices by graphic type
Start from the film: it sets the material cost, the install method and how long the job lasts.
| Graphic | Typical construction | 2025–2026 price points |
|---|---|---|
| Wall wrap, smooth drywall | Printed wall vinyl with matte laminate | About $12.50 per sq ft installed (Cushing, Chicago); $15–$18 (Lucent, Orange County) |
| Wall wrap, textured brick, block or stucco | Textured-surface film, heat-applied | $25–$50 per sq ft (Lucent) |
| Window perf | Printed perforated window film | From $15 per sq ft print-only (FedEx Office); $12 per sq ft unlaminated (one California shop, 2025) |
| Frosted privacy film | Frosted or decorative window film | $8–$20 per sq ft installed (Window Film Depot) |
| Floor graphic | Printed vinyl with slip-resistant laminate | From $17 per sq ft print-only, no minimum (FedEx Office) |
The trade's own numbers show how wide the spread is. In a 2024 Signs101 thread about a 21 × 13 ft interior wall, owners posted $7, about $9, $12–$14, $14 and $16 per sq ft for print and install, and two said design was extra.
Bottom line: set one rate per film, then let the site conditions below move the price up.
Wall wraps: smooth walls versus textured walls
Smooth painted drywall
This is the job your base rate is built on. Cushing, a Chicago sign company, prices a 100 sq ft interior wall graphic printed on 3M IJ40 with a matte laminate at about $1,250, including a local non-union install that doesn't need a lift. Lucent Graphic Solutions in Orange County lists vinyl wall wraps at $15–$18 per sq ft and puts a 100 sq ft feature wall at $1,500–$1,800 with design and installation.
*Example, assuming a 21 × 13 ft smooth drywall wall (273 sq ft) at $14 per sq ft printed, laminated and installed from ladders:* 273 × $14 = $3,822 before design. That lands near the roughly $4,000 two Signs101 posters suggested for the same wall.
For install-only labor, one shop in the Signs101 wall wrap installation thread posted "$3.50-$4.50" per sq ft for windows and walls in January 2025, against $5–$6.50 for vehicles.
Textured walls: brick, block and stucco
3M's IJ8624 film for textured surfaces is built for moderately textured surfaces such as concrete block, brick, industrial stucco and tile, and 3M says application "requires the use of high heat" and its textured-surface applicator tools. The bulletin adds: "Do not attempt application using a standard squeegee."
That changes the price three ways:
- •Labor. Heat-rolling film into mortar joints is slow. A Signs101 poster in the 2024 thread said to charge more for brick or cinderblock for exactly that reason.
- •Tools. The same poster noted a 3M TSA-4 roller costs "$500+" if you don't own one.
- •Lifespan. 3M rates textured-surface graphics at 2 years indoors and 6–12 months outdoors (where freeze-thaw cycles don't occur), and warns that outdoor graphics can grow mold or mildew behind the film.
Lucent prices textured and specialty wall wraps at $25–$50 per sq ft, against $15–$18 for vinyl on smooth walls.
Bottom line: quote textured walls on their own rate, in textured-wall film, with a shorter lifespan written on the quote.
Surface prep and wall texture: the risk you're pricing
On a wall, the paint is as big a risk as the vinyl. Avery Dennison's interior wall graphics bulletin sets out what a wall needs:
- 1.The right finish. A smooth, primed wall painted in semi-gloss or gloss. Avery says to avoid flat, low-sheen and matte paints, heavily textured paints, and paints with silicones or Teflon.
- 2.Cure time. Air-drying paints should sit "at least one week (7 days)" before film goes on, and Avery notes some paints take months to fully cure. Film applied too early traps outgassing, which shows up as lifting and bubbles.
- 3.A test strip. Apply a small strip somewhere hidden and leave it 2–3 days. It should then be moderately difficult to remove without damaging the wall.
- 4.Sound layers. If the paint isn't well bonded to the primer or the wall, it can come off with the graphic later.
Avery recommends sealing concrete with paint first and doesn't warrant graphics applied to raw concrete. A heavily textured wall can be sanded smooth, then primed, painted and cured, which is a painting job, not a graphics job.
Put the risk on paper: add a site survey and test strip to the quote, require cured semi-gloss or gloss paint, and price repainting, sealing or sanding as separate lines or exclude them.
Bottom line: a customer who just painted waits a week, and a customer with flat paint gets a written warning before you install.
Window graphics: perf, cut vinyl and frosted film
Window perf
Perforated film stays see-through from inside, and the pattern sets the trade-off: in Avery Dennison's perforated window film line, 50/50 gives a 50% open area for the best visibility, while 65/35 has a 35% open area and is "ideal for stationary windows" where image quality matters more. Avery rates those films at one year printed.
On price, FedEx Office lists perforated window film from $15 per sq ft before installation. In a 2025 Signs101 perf thread, a Modesto, CA shop posted "$12/sqft unlaminated" for 60/40 perf. Wholesale is far lower: in a 2024 thread on a 432 sq ft perf job, one shop put trade-only printed perf at about $2.75 per sq ft. If you buy perf wholesale, your margin is in the install and the service.
Cut vinyl storefront graphics
Small window jobs cost more per foot. Cushing prices a 22 sq ft storefront window graphic in cut vinyl at about $575, installed first or second surface without a lift, which is about $26 per sq ft. Cushing also notes installs are weather dependent.
Frosted and etched-look film
Window Film Depot puts professionally installed frosted film at $8–$20 per sq ft. On its commercial window frosting page, entry-level frosted privacy film on one floor runs $8–$12, and premium films with custom graphics or logos $20 or more. AlphaGraphics Camelback in Phoenix prices frosted privacy film at about $15–$21. Cushing quotes 80 sq ft of contour-cut privacy film at about $1,750 before installation, so cut patterns price well above plain frost.
Use real etched glass as your anchor: Window Film Depot says custom etched or sandblasted panels start at $25–$50 per sq ft fabricated, before freight and installation. For flat-glass film beyond decorative work, see the residential and commercial window film pricing guide.
Bottom line: price perf and frost per square foot, and charge small storefront jobs more per foot or a minimum.
Floor graphics: laminate and slip rating first
A floor graphic is a walking surface, so the laminate is what you're really selling. In the US, the standard is UL 410: Arlon's UL 410 explainer calls it a safety standard that "evaluates the slip resistance of floor surface materials" by measuring the coefficient of friction. Specify a laminate certified to it, such as the UL 410 certified overlaminates in Nekoosa's Walk-On Graphics system.
Then price the floor graphic as a campaign:
- •Short life. Nekoosa rates Walk-On Graphics for indoor short-term use under 6 months. Avery Dennison's DOL 6000 floor laminate lasts up to 9 months on indoor floors and carries an R10 slip rating under the European DIN 51130 test.
- •The right floor. Nekoosa recommends smooth, clean, flat surfaces such as tile, sealed wood and sealed concrete. Carpet and rough outdoor surfaces need other products.
- •Removal built in. If it's rated for six to nine months, the removal date belongs on the quote.
FedEx Office's non-slip floor graphics start at $17 per sq ft with no minimum, and its example 18 × 24 in outdoor floor graphic is $51. That's a print-only price; your quote adds the laminate spec, floor prep and install.
Bottom line: never quote a floor graphic without naming the slip-rated laminate.
Installation labor, access and after-hours work
Most per-square-foot prices quietly assume easy access. The $12–$14 Signs101 quote above assumed basic prep and "no scissor lifts", and Cushing's examples say they don't require a lift. When the wall is high or the window is above a canopy, the lift is a line item.
On DOZR's Freeport, NY listing for late October 2026, a 19 ft electric scissor lift rents for $159.60–$234 a day and $338.40–$551 a week, and a 26 ft lift for $162–$280 a day.
After-hours work is the other access cost. Lucent schedules wall installs outside business hours, and Window Film Depot notes after-hours or weekend work adds to the cost. Quote night and weekend labor at your premium rate as its own line rather than burying it in the square-foot price. For crew hourly rates and bucket-truck work, see the sign installation pricing guide.
Bottom line: if the job needs a lift, a night shift or union labor, it's a separate line.
Removal: quote it before you install
Window Film Depot's removal guide puts window film removal at $2–$3 per sq ft for most projects, $2.25–$2.75 for brittle or badly bubbled film, and $3.25 or more for thick multi-layer film.
Walls are riskier. 3M says IJ8624 removal "requires heat and/or chemicals" and makes no claims about how easy or fast it will be, and Avery warns that poorly bonded paint can come away with the graphic. Price the removal of old graphics as its own line, quote install and removal together on temporary campaigns, and exclude paint damage on walls you didn't prep.
Design, minimums and the full quote
Cushing has a $35 minimum on every order, and its numbers show why small jobs need one: about $12.50 per sq ft on a 100 sq ft wall versus about $26 on a 22 sq ft storefront. Design is usually a separate line; in the 2024 Signs101 thread, several shops priced the wall "design not included" or "design is extra". The sign and banner pricing guide covers design fees and the cost-floor math.
A complete architectural graphics quote has these lines:
- 1.Print and laminate, per sq ft, by film.
- 2.Site survey and adhesion test.
- 3.Surface prep, or a written exclusion.
- 4.Install labor, with textured surfaces at their own rate.
- 5.Lift or scaffold rental.
- 6.After-hours or weekend premium.
- 7.Removal of old graphics.
- 8.Design.
Bottom line: every line you leave off is work you'll do for free.

FAQ
How much do wall wraps cost per square foot? Published 2025–2026 prices for a printed, laminated wall wrap installed on smooth drywall run about $12–$25 per sq ft. One Chicago shop's 100 sq ft example works out to about $12.50, and an Orange County shop lists $15–$18 for vinyl wall wraps. Textured brick, block or stucco runs $25–$50 per sq ft.
How much does window perf cost per square foot? FedEx Office lists perforated window film from $15 per sq ft before installation, and one California shop posted $12 per sq ft unlaminated in 2025. Trade-only printed perf can cost about $2.75 per sq ft wholesale. Installed retail prices sit above the print-only numbers.
How much does frosted window film cost installed? Installed frosted film runs about $8–$20 per sq ft. Entry-level privacy film on one floor runs $8–$12, and premium film with custom graphics or logos $20 or more. Custom etched or sandblasted glass starts around $25–$50 per sq ft before installation.
How much should I charge for floor graphics? FedEx Office's non-slip floor graphics start at $17 per sq ft print-only with no minimum. Specify a UL 410 slip-resistant laminate and plan on a short indoor life: under 6 months for one UL 410 system and up to 9 months for one European-rated laminate. Add floor prep, installation and removal as separate lines.
Do textured walls cost more to wrap? Yes. One Orange County shop prices textured and specialty wall wraps at $25–$50 per sq ft against $15–$18 for smooth walls. Textured surfaces need a textured-surface film, high heat and special rollers, and 3M rates those graphics at 2 years indoors and 6–12 months outdoors.
How long should paint cure before installing wall graphics? Avery Dennison recommends at least 7 days for air-drying paints and notes some paints take months to fully cure. Avoid flat and matte paints, and test a small strip for 2–3 days before the full install.
How much does it cost to remove window graphics? Window film removal runs about $2–$3 per sq ft for most projects, with brittle or multi-layer film costing more. Quote removal of old graphics as its own line before you install new ones.
