What should a shop check before wrapping, tinting, or installing PPF on a vehicle?

Walk the vehicle with the customer before any film goes on and record its condition in photos: every panel from fixed angles, plus close-ups of chips, scratches, dents, rust, and failing clearcoat. Flag repainted panels with a paint meter - Avery Dennison lists non-OEM painted vehicles as unsuitable for its wrap film and makes no warranty for removal from automotive paint older than 5 years. Tint shops should also check existing film, rear defroster lines, and glass chips; PPF and wrap shops should note radar and camera areas. Have the customer sign the report, and repeat the walkaround at pickup.
